Perch
The perch, another predator, is a wonderfully coloured fish of black stripes over green flanks, with signal red fins and an impressive array of spines along its back. Always a popular quarry, and is often caught when fishing for pike as it takes the same lures and baits. Generally groups of perch lurk in deep “perch holes” such as the deeps of a weir or a bend in a river, but excellent perch fishing can also be enjoyed when fishing for non predatory fish in shallower water. Perch are, in fact, the perfect all rounder!
