Trout
The trout is so well known it hardly needs an introduction. Colourful and fickle, any size trout is a prize fish! But have you heard of the Thames Trout? These fabled creatures have a long history, and they don’t always show themselves in Thames weirpools. Once they grew to prodigious sizes, but even a modest Thames Trout capture nowadays is a fish to remember. Its more humble cousin, the trout of chalkstreams and spate rivers, is the real icon, and many are the waters we may gracefully fish with an imitation fly to fool this crafty beauty.
